SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING

Everybody's (well, not everybody, but bunches) complaining about how discriminatory AZ's new identification request is on minorities - for some reason the Hispanic community has adopted the discrimination as being directed against it.

Well, it is illegal to discriminate in certain cases (race, religion, sex, etc) This is really easily fixed. Why not amend the law to include all people. In other words allow the authorities to ask anyone on any given day to prove they are in this country legally. You see, if one discriminates against everyone, it is no longer discrimination.

I don't know about you, but I have room for one more piece of id in my money clip and if it keeps me safer, makes a significant contribution to keeping my country from going bankrupt, it's fine with me.

So, go ahead officer, ask me to prove I'm in this country for the past 66 years legally. Just as they do in virtually every foreign country to which I've traveled - including Mexico.

Now, I know, some will say, "well where does it stop"? If you allow this, the police state will take over. Look around folks, it's already happening. Some say, "Well, we have to stop it"! I agree but it's a long way before we will give up our 4th amendment rights from "May I please see your identification and proof of residency"!

Do it to everyone and take the wind out of the whiner's sails!

That's what I think! Paul
